Overview
Brownstown Public Library serves a population of 7,325 which includes of the town of Brownstown, Brownstown Township, Grassy Fork Township, and Driftwood Township.
The library’s mission is to make readily available, to the greatest possible number of residents, the most wanted library materials of all kinds and to serve as a point of access for any needed information.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The library board of trustees are responsible for setting polices, hiring a director, planning for the future of the library, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the library, and to advocate for the library in the community. The board is comprised of seven residents of the library district. Each appointment is for a four-year term with term limits of four consecutive terms. The library board members serve without compensation.
Meetings
The Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the library conference room.
Note: March 2026 meeting has been changed to the fourth Tuesday.
